The Bainbridge Island Fire Department will host a public open house at the new Station 21 (8895 Madison Ave. NE) from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4.
Ground was broken on the new facility, built by FORMA Construction and Mackenzie architecture firm, last May. The former, aged Station 21 building on Madison Avenue was closed in March 2017, as construction of the new and improved, approximately 27,000-square-foot facility began.
Station 21 will once again function as the headquarters of the organization, the new complex will also be department’s primary training area, and boast the capabilities necessary to act as island authorities’ combined emergency operations center during a large-scale disaster.
