Mithun Architects will host an open house at Blakely Elementary at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12. The designers of the new school facility will update the community on construction plans and share schedule and design parameters.
“We are excited about the progress we have made and are anxious to share how the school district is investing in Blakely’s educational environment with the community’s support,” said Tamela VanWinkle, capital projects director for the Bainbridge Island School District. “Neighbors, parents and the greater public are encouraged to attend, listen and ask questions.”
In February 2016, voters approved a capital bond measure which provided funds to rebuild Blakely Elementary and the 100 Building at Bainbridge High School, as well as perform district-wide repairs and renovations. The Blakely project will be completed first, with construction slated to begin in early 2018.
