Bremerton and Kitsap County have been selected as an official Fan Zone for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 2026 tournament, set to be the largest in FIFA history, will feature 48 teams, 16 host cities and 104 matches across the United States, Mexico and Canada. This expanded format will engage millions of fans globally, making it the most inclusive World Cup ever.
It is scheduled for June and July 2026, and local organizing committee SeattleFWC26 is overseeing the region’s role as one of the 16 host cities. The committee is working to create a lasting legacy for the region, guided by the spirit of soccer, innovation, and inclusion.
The selection of Bremerton as a fan zone is part of SeattleFWC26’s broader initiative to bring the World Cup experience to communities across Washington. Alongside the Seattle Fan Celebration at the Seattle Center, nine cities, including Bremerton, will host fan zones to provide fans throughout the state an opportunity to celebrate the global tournament.
“We’re excited to work with these nine communities to bring the thrill of the FIFA World Cup 2026 experience to all corners of Washington state,” said Peter Tomozawa, CEO of SeattleFWC26.
Other fan zone cities include Bellingham, Everett, Olympia, Tri-Cities, Spokane, Tacoma, Vancouver and Yakima. Specific locations for fan activities within each city will be announced closer to the event.
With over 270,000 residents, Bremerton’s fan zone will provide visitors with a chance to enjoy live entertainment, food and beverage offerings, interactive activities and community events.
“We are thrilled that Kitsap County and the city of Bremerton have been selected as a SeattleFWC26 fan zone, welcoming fans from around the globe to our extraordinary region,” Kitsap County Commissioner Katie Walters, Bremerton Mayor Greg Wheeler and Port Orchard Mayor Rob Putaansuu say in a joint statement. “Just a ferry ride away from Seattle, our community offers visitors the chance to immerse themselves in our rich naval history, enjoy live entertainment in Quincy Square, explore our breathtaking maritime landscapes, and experience the warmth and hospitality of our vibrant and welcoming waterfront neighborhoods.”
