A mechanical issue with an engine bearing caused the ferry M/V Tacoma to miss an early round trip between Bainbridge Island and Seattle on Friday morning, Jan. 29.
The second sailing from Bainbridge, at 5:20 a.m., and the 6:10 a.m. sailing from Seattle were canceled so repairs could be done.
The Tacoma was repaired while at Bainbridge by workers who were dispatched from Washington State Ferries’ Eagle Harbor Maintenance Facility, said WSF spokesman Brian Mannion.
Two-boat service was restored on the Bainbridge route with the 7:05 a.m. departure from Bainbridge Island.
