Car prowlers strike Bainbridge’s Island Terrace apartments Wednesday

Bainbridge Police responded to reports of 10 car prowls Wednesday, apparently carried out in the early morning hours.

According to a BIPD press release, eight vehicles were broken into in the area of the Island Terrace apartment complex. The release did not specify the location of the other two vehicles.

Windows were found broken on four of the vehicles. Stereos and stereo equipment were the only items reported missing. Police noted that other items, including other electronic equipment, were not taken from the vehicles. According to the release, many of the vehicles had been left unlocked.

Investigators gathered evidence from the vehicles, which has been sent to the Washington State Crime Lab for analysis, the release said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crimes to contact the department at 842-5211.
