During its gala dinner on Saturday, March 7, the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce announced its membership award winners. The 2015 board members were announced as well. State Sen. Christine Rolfes conducted the installation of the 2015 Chamber Board of Directors and officers.
Winners are as follows:
• Small Business of the Year — OfficeXpats
• Medium Business of the Year — Bainbridge Island Brewing Company
• Large Business of the Year — PHC Construction
• Nonprofit of the Year — Housing Resources Bainbridge
• Sustainable Business of the Year – Coates Design Architects
• Chairman’s Choice — Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Parks & Recreation District
• Citizen of the Year (and Grand Marshal of the 2015 Grand Old 4th Parade) – Diane Landry, founder of Sustainable Bainbridge’s Zero Waste Initiative
Winners were chosen in a blind judging system by a panel of local business people and citizens. Judges do not judge their own award category, do not know who the other judges are nor the outcome of the overall judging until the winners are announced. Criteria for selection was involvement, participation, or contributions to the community, community organizations or the chamber.
