Bestselling island author Susan Wiggs revisits the fictional town of Avalon in her new novel, “Lakeshore Christmas” (Mira Books).
The sixth installment in Wiggs’ Lakeshore Chronicles series embroils librarian Maureen Davenport in a battle to save the endangered town library at what should be the merriest time of year.
“I’m very sensitive to library budgetary concerns, so when I was trying to figure out what would be a good Christmas story, the library seemed like a good fit,” said Wiggs, herself a volunteer with the Bainbridge Public Library.
Along with cookie recipes, the novel includes song suggestions; Wiggs said her own holiday baking has always had music in the background. Readers can find playlists at www.susanwiggs.com.
Also stay tuned for local promotional events, which will no doubt include holiday treats.
“You’ve got cookies, you’ve got music, you’ve got a library to save – what’s not to like?” Wiggs said.
