Bainbridge Island is seeking proposals for projects to receive funding under the Civic Improvement Fund.

Proposals must be for projects that either promote tourism on Bainbridge Island, or support the operation of tourism related facilities.

City officials noted that for 2015, there are approximately $125,000 in Civic Improvement funds available for distribution to support selected projects.

Proposals should be emailed to cityadmin@bainbridgewa.gov no later than 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1.

More information including the full-text of the Request For Proposals, application instructions and a list of  previously funded projects, can be found at: http://www.bainbridgewa.gov/236/Lodging-Tax-Advisory-Committee.

In the past, the Bainbridge city council has approved funding from Civic Improvement Funds to encourage innovative projects of all sizes that recognize and promote the exciting — and expanding — tourism trends and opportunities happening on the island. Applicants may seek a minimum award of $2,000 and a maximum award of $62,500 (to reflect 50 percent of total available funds). Successful applicants will be required to enter into a contract with the city to provide the services or products outlined in their proposals.

Proposals will be provided to the City’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee for review and comment. The 2015 Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will be appointed by the city council and will include Councilwoman Sarah Blossom as chairwoman and Councilman Roger Townsend as vice chairman.

Questions regarding the application can be directed to Amber Richards at 206-842-2545 or arichards@bainbridgewa.gov.
