Parker H. Costa was named to the dean’s list at Olympic College for the 2017 spring quarter.
Costa, a Bainbridge Island resident and 2015 Bainbridge High School graduate, is working toward an associate of art degree. Additionally, Costa performs as the first trumpet in both Olympic’s Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble.
Olympic College students who achieve a 3.5 or better grade point average for the second quarter 2017 have been named to the dean’s list recognizing their outstanding academic excellence.
Olympic College is a public two-year college that educates more than 13,000 students a year. Founded in 1946, the college has three campuses in Bremerton, Poulsbo and Shelton. Olympic College has attracted many dignitaries during its history including Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States, who visited the college in 1948. President Truman received the first honorary degree from the college that year.
In 2015, Olympic College was named as one of 10 finalists for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation’s preeminent recognition of high achievement and performance in America’s community colleges.
