Council facing packed agenda in coming weeks

Having just finished restructuring the budget in the last two months, the City Council will tackle issues such as Winslow Way reconstruction and recruitment of a new city manager in the next month.

It begins Wednesday, when the council meets with Poulsbo City Council members to discuss pooling resources and a combined transportation plan.

Throughout the budget process, the council has spoke of shared resources as a primary method of cutting costs. One of the most discussed items was the island’s Municipal Court. At Wednesday’s meeting, the councils will discuss the possibility of a joint court.

The following Monday, April 5, the council will interview up to three candidates to replace interim City Manager Lee Walton.

The following day, the council will hold the first of two workshops on the Winslow Way reconstruction project with the goal of making a decision early in May on whether or not to go forward on the project this year.

The project was delayed last November when the city was unable to obtain the full funding needed to complete the project.
