Drew Crandall will be the next principal for Sonoji Sakai Intermediate School, according to a Bainbridge Island School District announcement earlier this week.
Crandall will take over as principal on July 1.
“The interview team was impressed with Drew’s leadership skills, as well as his wealth of knowledge and experience working with pre-adolescence students,” said BISD Superintendent Peter Bang-Knudsen. “He understands the importance of fostering students’ academics, as well as bolstering their social and emotional health. He is a collaborative leader and looks forward to working alongside Sakai staff, students and families.”
Crandall has served as principal of Poulsbo Elementary School, a K-5 school in the North Kitsap School District, for the last three years.
His leadership experience also includes serving as an academic and behavior coach for North Kitsap High School and serving as assistant principal for Kingston High School.
Prior to becoming an administrator, Crandall was an elementary school teacher.
Jim Corsetti, current principal for Sonoji Sakai Intermediate School, was named BISD’s Athletic Director and will begin his new role on July 1, 2020.
