Kayla Estes of Poulsbo, a 2013 graduate of Bainbridge High School, recently received her bachelor of science degree in nutrition from Bastyr University.
Bastyr, located in Kenmore’s Saint Edward State Park on Lake Washington, is a pioneer in natural medicine, and offers more than 20 graduate and undergraduate degrees in science-based natural medicine that integrates mind, body, spirit and nature.
Estes has also continued her work with the disabled and underprivileged. On her weekends for the past two years, she was the assistant director of Easterseals’ Camp Stand By Me in Vaughn.
She will also pursue her passion for climbing and hiking. Having summited all five of Washington’s volcanoes and Mount Hood, she will seek new adventures.
