Annual work on the Agate Pass Bridge is coming up later this month.
Travelers are encouraged to plan for several days of significant daytime congestion. State Department of Transportation crews will reduce the span to one-way alternating traffic.
Bridge work will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the week of Feb. 22-26. It will include inspection and maintenance.
Motorists can expect up to 30 minute delays on the Highway 305 bridge between Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo.
Law enforcement will direct traffic at the intersection of Highway 305 and Suquamish Way NE.
DOT needs help from travelers consider postponing discretionary trips and to travel early morning or late afternoon.
DOT is unable to do this work at night to avoid this type of delays because inspection requires daylight to be done safely. Crews maneuver a large mechanical arm of an Under Bridge Inspection Truck through, over and under the bridge.
