Failed transformer causes brief Tuesday power outage

A failed transformer in the Port Madison area was responsible for a brief, north end power outage Tuesday morning, according to a Puget Sound Energy spokesperson. According to PSE a circuit was blown shortly after 7 a.m., cutting power to about 1,200 homes. Traffic signals on State Route 305 at Day Road and Sportsman Club Road were also left dark, creating long backups amid the morning commute.
