A potential three-way primary race for the North Ward, District 2 Bainbridge city council seat started to look less likely Tuesday afternoon after one of the three candidates interested in the position said she was getting out of the race.

Susan D. Bergen filed as a candidate in the race Monday but told the Review on Tuesday afternoon that she was withdrawing from the race.

Bergen is one of two islanders to file as a candidate for the position.

Bergen, along with Kol Medina, filed as candidates on May 11, the first day of Candidate Filing Week.

Ron Peltier threw his hat into the North Ward ring with a public appearance Saturday at Bainbridge Island City Hall where he announced his candidacy.

Peltier has not yet officially filed as a candidate.

Mayor Anne Blair, the incumbent council member for the District 2, North Ward seat, said earlier she would not seek re-election.

The post carries a four-year term.
