The second phase of roadway construction on Fort Ward Hill was suspended last week.
The city decided to postpone work until spring 2014 due to construction scheduling conflicts and the incoming fall weather.
Primo Construction Inc. was contracted by the city in late July to improve the roadways on Fort Ward Hill. The work will include reconstructing about 1,400 feet of roadway, adding 5-foot-wide paved shoulders, plus rockeries and a guard rail.
