Bainbridge Police reported the following incidents:

JUNE 23

5:28 a.m. An Olalla woman was pulled over on Lovgreen Road and cited for driving with a suspended license.

7:48 a.m. A Bremerton driver was stopped for driving 41 mph in a 25 mph zone on Hidden Cove Road. The woman’s license was found to be suspended for an unpaid ticket. She was cited for speeding, failure to provide proof of insurance and driving while suspended.

3:02 p.m. Police responded to the ferry terminal to locate a man who was apparently delusional. Officers found the man, who said he had come to talk to the president. He told an officer that he could talk to the president on a CB radio if one could be provided. Another officer verified that the man had been in a mental health facility in the past and lately had not been taking his prescribed medication. The man agreed to be transported to a hospital but asked to be protected from gamma rays and radio waves.

5:22 p.m. A bicycle collided with a motorcycle on Wyatt Way as the motorcyle slowed to make a turn onto Weaver Road. The bicyclist was cited for following too close.

5:32 p.m. A resident reported seeing several juveniles painting graffiti on her garbage bin on Cherry Avenue. The resident confronted the youths, who fled. She told police that the same group had tagged her other garbage can during the previous week, and had tagged the street and mailboxes in the neighborhood. Letters painted on the mailbox appeared to spell “skate” and “DXSC.” Damage to the mailboxes was valued at $150. The investigation continues.

7:42 p.m. An officer responded to a call from Eagle Harbor drive where a resident said a fawn was sick in her yard. The fawn was barely alive and not moving when the officer arrived. The officer dispatched it with a sidearm and carried it into the woods for disposal.

10:41 p.m. A caller advised that a deer was injured in a ditch near a house on Palomino Drive. An officer responded, dispatched the deer with a sidearm, and disposed of it in the woods.

JUNE 24

8:37 a.m. Signs and sidewalk at City Hall were found vandalized. Gold paint had been sprayed on a sign and three light posts. Black paint had been used on the sidewalk in the parking lot. The letters “NCK” and the word “Duckie” were legible, along with drawings of a heart, male genitalia and a sunburst. Damage was estimated at $150; Public Works was notified.

11:55 a.m. An employee of a clubhouse on Cherry Avenue reported that sometime during the night someone had tried to force open French doors leading to the dining room. The tamperers had left scratches on the door and bent a door handle. Damage was estimated at $200.

2:57 a.m. An officer ran a records check on a Ford F250 backed into a stall in front to the Island Terrace Apartments on High School Road. The vehicle returned as stolen in King County and was impounded.

4:17 p.m. A resident of Charles Place reported that a half-full, five-gallon gasoline can had been stolen from in front of her garage. She said she thought another neighbor had also had gas can stolen recently. The gas was valued at $20. No suspects.

JUNE 25

8:55 a.m. A citizen turned in a camera he had found near the Agate Pass bridge several weeks earlier. The camera, a Canon PowerShot A60, appeared to have fallen from a moving vehicle or bicycle. The camera was still functioning and police were able to view photos on the memory card, although none identified a possible owner. The camera was entered into evidence.

10:49 a.m. A vehicle was stopped on SR-305 for expired tabs. The driver was cited for expired tabs and driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded.

12:54 p.m. A Bainbridge resident said an unknown person had used his credit card to make multiple purchases over the Internet from a Chicago business called Tire Rack. Police contacted the business for suspect information and the investigation continues.

4:03 p.m. A citizen reported that several personal items were not returned after his belongings were moved out of his apartment during a remodel. A year before, the apartment managers had arranged to have the items stored while the unit was remodeled. After two weeks, the tenant moved back into the unit but said several of this personal items were not returned by movers. The tenant has been in an ongoing dispute over with the apartment manager over the items and wanted his loss documented. The case was recorded.
