Opening day festivities for the Bainbridge Island Little League get underway Saturday at Woodward Middle School as the incoming T-ball players parade across the WMS stage to trade high-fives with veteran Little Leaguers.
Players, coaches, volunteers and families came together to kick off the season with a pizza lunch as league officials gave an overview of the accomplishments of the last season and a preview of what’s ahead.
The opening day jamboree also celebrated the league’s 12-year-olds later in the afternoon with a special ceremony where the graduating players were given medals.
Regular season games begin the week of April 9.
