The Spartan shoots a 39 at Beacon Hill for her third medal.
Katie Saucier was rather matter-of-fact about her play.
“I haven’t been striking very well,†the Spartan golfer said after her play on Monday. “But I try not to force anything. I just play the way I know how.â€
The way she’s been playing has been excellent, as Saucier shot a 39 at Jefferson Municipal Golf Course on Beacon Hill Thursday to win her third straight medal.
Her score wasn’t enough to help Bainbridge win as team, as they came in second by five points to Holy Names. Eastside Catholic was third, followed by Rainier Beach.
Saucier scored 42 Stableford points while Rachel Frease scored 35 points. Melanie Trygg scored 33, with Marley Horne and Ryan Nottingham at 21 points each.
The loss for the Spartans, their first of the season, was to the same school that defeated them last season for their only loss.
On Monday, the Spartans won with 149 team Stableford points over Seattle Prep, Eastside Catholic and West Seattle at Wing Point Golf and Country Club.
Saucier won the medal as she shot a 35, one under par, to score 46 points. She had one birdie and parred all the other holes except one.
Frease shot a 45 to score 36 points, while Horne shot a 47 for 34 points. Trygg shot a 48 for 33 points, but had a birdie as well.
Annalise Herr shot a 55 and Nottingham had a 58 in the exhibition matches.
In their non-league match against Peninsula on Sept. 15, Saucier medaled with a 39 to score 42 points, as she had two birdies and three pars. Trygg and Horne had 35 points, while Frease had 33 and Nottingham had 31 to round out the top five.
Bainbridge will face off against Bishop Blanchet at Wing Point on Tuesday. Tee time is at 3 p.m.
