For the first time, Bainbridge High School was entered into the “5th Avenue Theatre – Best High School Musical” judging this year, with two BHS actors receiving honors for their performance in the high school’s production of “Anything Goes.”
In the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role category, BHS junior Simon Patterson was awarded Honorable Mention for his performance of Moonface Martin.
Honorable Mention also went to Jake Mallove for his portrayal of Elisha J. Whitney in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Featured Ensemble Role.

Heather M. Peck, of Bainbridge Island, was named to the spring 2008 dean’s list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.

Michelle de Beauchamp, daughter of Deborah de Beauchamp of Bainbridge Island, was recently inducted into the Areté Society at Pacific Lutheran University. De Beauchamp, a graduate of Bainbridge High School, is studying anthropology and history at PLU.

Tiana M. Gallagher, daughter of Richard and Erin Whitson, graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles on May 10. She received bachelor of communication and fine arts degree with a major in studio arts, graphic design emphasis, with an art history minor.

Kylie Marie Izzie, of Bainbridge Island, was named to the Dean’s List at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., earning a 4.0 GPA. She is majoring in sport management and exercise science.

Paul E. Jenny, Bainbridge High School class of 1985, was recently chosen to be the University of Washington’s vice provost for planning and budgeting. For the past four years, Jenny has served as associate vice chancellor of budget and resource planning for the University of California, Berkeley.
His new post will be effective July 1.
