Students at Woodward Middle School are being asked for handwriting samples after police were called following another bomb threat at the school – the fourth in the past two months.

The latest incident was Monday, March 26. School officials told police that someone wrote a message saying “Bomb @ 1200” on the outside of a stall wall in a girls’ bathroom.

Principal Mike Florian told police that students at the school were going to be given a writing assignment last week to collect handwriting samples, according to police reports.

The first bomb message was discovered on Feb. 14, and two others followed in March.

Police reports indicate that the last two threats had similar handwriting. The messages also appear in similar form; “Bomb 1:00,” “Bomb 1,” and “Bomb @ 1200.”

All the messages were written in pencil on bathroom stall walls. The first was discovered in a boys’ bathroom, while the last three were all left in a downstairs girls’ bathroom in the main building across from the library.

After the first threat was found, the school was evacuated while police and faculty conducted a search. Nothing was found.

The last two threats were discovered after the indicated time had elapsed, so no evacuation was carried out.
