‘Holligan’ license plate helps nab Hansville burglar

A 25-year-old Hansville man with the license plate “Holligan” was in Superior Court Sept. 30 arrested on a warrant from 2022.

Bail was $150,000. He was charged with second-degree burglary and violation of a court order. He faces 11 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

Court records show Kitsap deputies responded Oct. 18, 2022, at 8:53 a.m. to a burglary in the 11300 block of Clear Creek Road in Silverdale. The caller said a spray-painted black Ford Mustang with license plate “Holligan” drove up to a storage shed, and broke a window to gain entrance when bolt cutters didn’t work.

Deputies later saw the vehicle and talked to a woman inside. She said the man was taking back items that belonged to him. Deputies noted then why was he wearing a ski mask. The suspect was rounded up and taken to jail.

Coffee stain leads to arrest

A 30-year-old Belfair man was in Superior Court Oct. 1 charged with second-degree burglary.

He faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines. Bail was $50,000.

Court records show Kitsap deputies responded Sept. 30 to the 9900 block of Blaine Avenue NW. A manager saw a coffee stain in a common area, looked a security cameras, and saw a man who did not belong on the grounds. The man used a knife or screwdriver to pry open a locking latch. After making himself a cup of coffee, he started opening mail packages. Even though he wore a mask, officers were about to identify him as a local homeless man. He was spotted later and arrested.

Reese’s stolen

A 35-year-old Silverdale man was in Superior Court Sept. 30 charged with second-degree robbery after stealing a display box of Reese’s candy bars, among other items.

Bail was $150,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court records say Port Orchard police responded to the 1400 block of Olney Avenue at 8:35 a.m. A man threatened to assault an employee and took items without paying. The suspect took beer, batteries, beef jerky-pepperoni and Reese’s candy bars. The female victim said he threatened to “kick her ass,” and she was so scared she was trembling.

Bail $750K

Bail was set at $750,000 for a 49-year-old Graham man charged in Superior Court Oct. 3 after being arrested on a warrant from June 27 for sex communication with a minor.

He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Court papers say Kitsap deputies responded March 13 to a Port Orchard residence. The mother of a 13-year-old said a former foster parent abused the child. A grandmother and caretaker caught the girl touching herself to a video of the suspect. Sexual voice messages also were found as evidence.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Crime spree

A 39-year-old Poulsbo woman and a 45-year-old man were in Superior Court Oct. 1 charged with first-degree malicious mischief.

Her bail was $50,000. His was $51,500. They both face 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Court records say Kitsap deputies responded Sept. 22 to Pioneer Way and Lofall Road in Poulsbo. A deputy thought a U-Haul truck possibly was being used in a series of utilty wire cutting/theft incidents, part of a recent crime trend in the county.

The deputy talked to the man and woman. There was nothing inside the U-Haul.

The pair was released. However, further up from the site was a freshly cut wire. After checking the poles, the deputy saw hundreds of feet of wire. Tools possibly used in commission of the crime also were found. Fingerprints were matched to the suspects.

Officers called a local metals company and found the pair are frequent customers. The woman recently sold them 2,271 pounds of copper worth $7,623. The man had sold 326 pounds for $994.

The deputy was told to repair each pole would cost $15,000 to $50,000.

Officer kicked

A 45-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Oct. 2 charged with assault for kicking an officer.

He faces five years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Bail was $50,000.

Court records say Bremerton police responded to the 800 block of 5th Street at 8:09 a.m. Oct. 1. An officer saw the suspect sweating, pacing around and yelling at inanimate objects. An officer was kicked as he was searching the suspect, who had a red bat and was attempting to steal a safety harnesss from a construction site. He also accidentally head-butted the officer and had 1.5 grams of meth.

Woman assaulted

A 31-year-old Port Orchard man was in Superior Court Sept. 27 charged with second-degree assault.

He faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Court records say Kitsap deputies responded Sept. 26 at 5 a.m. to the 4600 block of SE Nina Lane. The woman said she was assaulted by her boyfriend of eight years, with whom she has a child. During an argument, he backhanded her in the mouth and threw her to the ground. He put his hand over her mouth when she tried to yell, and she bit him. The suspect then punched her in the mouth with a closed fist and started choking her. The suspect pulled a pillow off the bed and put it over her face. She began punching him with both hands, causing him to back off. He told her to stop yelling as she would wake up the kids. He then left the home that they share. One of the four kids witnessed the assault.

When contacted, the suspect said he caught the victim on Facebook talking to other guys for the second time. They argued, and she punched him in the back of the head. He said he took his daughter and left. Two of the children said they heard the fight but didn’t see it. They said their stepmother was drunk and started the fight, and the dad was defending himself.

Life in prison

A 30-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Sept. 30 charged with first-degree burglary with a deadly weapon and exhibiting a weapon.

Bail was $110,000. He faces life in prison plus a year and $55,000 in fines.

Court records say Bremerton police responded to the 1700 block of Houston Avenue Sept. 23 at 5:49 p.m. A man was outside yelling and a woman offered him a ride home. But he tried to grab her so she pulled away. The man admitted taking a surveillance camera down and throwing it down the street. It was then noticed he had a blue and white pistol.

Some people vacated a house after hiding in a back bedroom, when the suspect went inside. Officers surrounded the house. A public address system was used to tell him to surrender. He refused for some time before giving up. Police went inside the house and found a 9mm gun.

Attempt to elude

A 63-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Oct. 4 charged with attempting to elude.

Bail was $50,000. He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Court records say Bremerton police responded to the 900 block of N. Wycoff Avenue Sept. 30 at 9:55 a.m. An officer saw a vehicle weaving through traffic. The driver would not pull over and continued to drive recklessly while speeding. The officer stopped the chase for safety reasons. The suspect was arrested later.

Ex-employee suspected

A 38-year-old Tacoma man was in Superior Court Oct. 1 arrested on a warrant earlier this year.

Bail was $50,000. He faces charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree theft and a sentence of 20 years in prison and $40,000 in fines.

Court papers say Port Orchard police on Jan. 17 responded at 3:45 a.m. to the 5100 block of St. Andrew’s Drive SW for a burglary in progress at a maintenance garage. A motion sensor alerted interior security cameras. Two people were loading items into a white truck. En route, police saw the truck pulling a trailer that was stolen. However, the vehicle eluded police.

Stolen was the trailer and tools valued at $10,135. Police discovered there was no forced entry. Someone knew the combination to the lock and the alarm code. Business supervisors recognized one of the culprits as someone who recently had been “let go.” The suspect left without returning keys, and he knew the code.

Another employee said he received texts from the suspect, who was angry that the man had said negative things about him to his girlfriend. The suspect threatened to retaliate, including challenging him to fight. The suspect had access to the other man’s girlfriend’s bank account, stole $20, threatened to take more, and added, “I definitely got you back now.”

The suspect has a tracking device on the other man’s girlfriend’s vehicle. They have an 11-year-old child together, and she feared him because he has a firearm. The suspect avoided arrest until recently.
