North Kitsap School District officials announced that Kingston High School would be closed Monday to disinfect the school after officials learned that a student at the school is being tested for novel coronavirus.
In an alert that went out at 7:25 a.m. to district families, officials were “made aware that a student at Kingston High School is being tested for Coronavirus (COVID-19). Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing Kingston High School today to thoroughly clean and disinfect the school.”
The alert also noted that all other district schools would remain open.
Two updates sent out at 8:05 a.m. and 8:24 a.m. stated that the student in question does not have any siblings attending other schools in the district and that students who rode the bus to KHS this morning would be moved to the nearby Choice Academy.
