Kitsap County Superior Court cases

$500,000 bail

Bail was set at $500,000 for a 31-year-old Poulsbo man arrested on a warrant and charged in Kitsap County Superior Court Aug. 29 with attempted rape of a child and child molestation

He faces life plus 10 years in prison and $70,000 in fines.

Court records say on June 3 at 10:05 a.m. a Kitsap deputy interviewed a 14-year-oldgirl about sex crimes that occurred a year or two before. The parents were so upset they didn’t want to be in the room with the victim during the interview.

The victim said they lived in an RV park, and she became friends with a nice lady. A man there was “weird, friendly.” He would grab her on the buttocks, breast and other private areas. The suspect also took her hand and made her touch his private parts. The suspect did the same thing to one of her friends.

Officers later found out the suspect was married to another man, but they had been kicked out of the RV park months before for drug use. When contacted later, the husband said the suspect had some mental health issues and had been recently fired from a job. In an interview with the Sexual Assault Unit, the victim said there were four incidents when she was in the seventh grade. One incident was too traumatic for her to verbalize, so she wrote in down on paper.

Theft at fire department

A 33-year-old Maple Valley woman was in Superior Court Aug. 28 charged with second-degree burglary.

Bail was $50,000. She faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Court records show Kitsap deputies went to the South Kitsap Fire Station No. 10 at 5629 Banner Road in Port Orchard at 7:25 a.m. May 31.

A car with four occupants arrived at 3:52 a.m., but the driver parked so the license plate could not be seen by cameras. Two masked men leave the vehicle, but the woman driver calls them back. She gives one gloves to conceal his fingerprints. The other is given a small, white woman’s tank top to further conceal his identity. Another woman gets out and goes up the road as a lookout. They communicate using cell phones and handheld radios. The men are seen on security video as they select items to steal. They steal a Stihl chainsaw, rescue saws and fire department radios. They get back in the car and drive away with the lights off, but the license plate could not be seen.

Bomb threat

A 50-year-old Bremerton woman was in Superior Court Aug. 28 charged with threat to bomb or injure property.

She faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Court papers say Bremerton police went to the 800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Way Aug. 27 to make the arrest. Dispatch had received 180 calls during the previous 72 hours from the same number. Calls became more alarming and even threatening. She threatened suicide. She followed that up with bomb threats. She specifically mentioned the ferry numerous times. A ferry to Bainbridge Island was even put on alert. Numerous other agencies responded. She was arrested as police believed she would continue to disrupt public services and endanger people. She was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale for evaluation.

Domestic violence

A 34-year-old Bremerton man was arrested on a warrant and in Superior Court Sept. 3 charged with two counts of second-degree assault and one of fourth-degree assault, all related to domestic violence.

Bail was $50,000. He faces 21 years in prison and $45,000 in fines.

Court records say Kitsap deputies responded May 22 at 10 p.m. to the 4300 block of Pine Road NE in Bremerton. The victim said her boyfriend of 10 years punched her in the face and body around 10 times. He choked her and his stepdaughter for a few minutes. He took the phone away from their child, who had called 911. He said when he escapes he’s going to kill her, and he was going to send “her and her kids to hell.”

Another report says the suspect was intoxicated.

Officers were unable to find him at the time, and he was later arrested.
