Incumbent Bill Knobloch will face challenger John Waldo in the November general election for a City Council Central Ward seat.
Knobloch earned 760 votes (44 percent) in unofficial final returns Tuesday evening, with Waldo garnering 507 votes (29 percent). The pair outpaced CarolAnn Barrows (20 percent) and Lauren Sato Ellis (7 percent), who will not advance past the primary.
Kim Brackett and Curtis Winston advanced in the South Ward contest, the only other island race that appeared in Tuesday’s primary.
Brackett captured 768 votes (49 percent) to Winston’s 469 (30 percent). Robert Dashiell earned 309 votes (20 percent) and will not advance to the general election.
Low turnout was expected, with just 29 percent of registered voters countywide participating based on Tuesday returns.
