Bainbridge blows out Curtis while Feldtman throws another two hit gem; Islanders defeat Spartans.

The Bainbridge boys lacrosse team is one step closer to the state championship.

Max Olson had a hat trick in the second quarter as did Sam Snow in the third as the Spartans defeated the Curtis Vikings 18-6 in a state playoff quarterfinal game.

The Vikings kept with the Spartans at first, as they scored twice early in the first quarter.

But Fiore Alailima scored twice as did Evan Wright and Max Olson to keep Bainbridge ahead.

Olson scored three times in the second while Dylan Masi had two goals. The defense and goalie Bryce Stevenson did the rest, keeping Curtis scoreless for most of the second half.

The Bainbridge baseball team kept their playoff hopes alive as Colin Feldtman threw another two hit shutout to help the Spartans defeat the West Seattle Wildcats 2-0 in a Metro League playoff game.

The sophomore didn’t walk anyone, but did hit a batter. He struck out four.

Bainbridge had just three hits, but took advantage of miscues by West Seattle, as Colin Bowman scored in the first inning on a throwing error off a sacrifice bunt.

In the fifth inning, Eldan Ball got on board when he was hit by a pitch, then stole second, advanced to third on a ground ball, then scored on a passed ball.

The boys soccer team didn’t get the breaks it needed as they lost to Mercer Island 2-1 in a winner to state game.

Dylan Tucker-Ganges scored in the eighth minute off a pass from Kyle Scoble, but the Islanders tied it up, then in the 48th minute, Derek Johnson put one in after goalkeeper Alex Bolt collided with a Bainbridge defender as all three were going for the ball.

The boys lacrosse team plays Garfield next Wednesday while the baseball team plays next Tuesday against a 3A Kingco opponent at a time and place to be determined.

The girls lacrosse team will play Forest Ridge next Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a state quarterfinal game.

If they win, they travel to Mercer Island next Thursday at 6 p.m.
