Leslie Marie Sherman passed away Nov. 21, 2014 in San Francisco, Calif.
She was born Feb. 1, 1950 in Spokane.
Leslie was a spirited, generous, fiercely loyal and intensely bright individual, taken from us much too soon and most unexpectedly following complications from an infection.
Devoted to family and friends, she was a well-traveled, multilingual, cat enthusiast who lived a colorful life full of passion and contrast. Known to many as Lizard, her creative intellect and inquisitive nature produced a radical ‘60s political activist who went on to a 35-year working career at various government agencies.
A California resident for more than 57 years, she graduated from Novato High with honors, 1968; and University of California, Santa Barbara, magna cum laude, 1972. She was a caregiver to her parents Robert and Mary Ann Sherman who preceded her in death, and a part-time resident of Bainbridge Island.
She is survived by brother, Robert Sherman (Leslie Hein), San Jose, California; sister, Katherine Sherman, Sonoma, Calif.; and brother, Charles Sherman (Guylaine Lemieux), Aubrey, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Leslie’s name be made to www.arf.net.
A Celebration of Life is planned for spring 2015.
