All women are invited to attend Savvy Women Exchanging Relevant Views to hear local cellist Priscilla Jones, along with her cello, explain how a wooden box and horsehair can come together to create emotion.
Hear the vast array of tone colors the cello produces, learn cello history and ponder how magical or scientific is the instrument’s ability to pull on heartstrings.
Jones will give the talk, “Confessions of a Cello Maniac.” She has performed and conducted widely for more than 40 years. She is the founder of Cello Mania and has a new quartet, Olympic Serenade. For the past 25 years she had a private studio on Bainbridge where she teaches cellists ages 4 to adult.
SWERV will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Filipino American Hall, 7566 High School Road.
