Lee Paranada of Pape Rents has family in Maui affected by the deadly and destructive wildfires.
The Kitsap Building Association is trying to help them and others by collecting a Conex box full of much-needed supplies to ship to Maui.
Supplies must be dropped off by 4 p.m. Aug. 18 at the KBA Office, 5251 Auto Center Way in Bremerton or at Quality Coating at 9654 Southworth Dr. in Port Orchard from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Paranada is a longtime member of KBA.
No clothes are being taken, but many other items are:
Non-perishable food
Containers – black and yellow Costco ones are best
Rubber boots
Industrial gloves (cleanup debris)
Respirator masks rated for smoke particles/asbestos
Tents – camping style
Pop-up tents
Cots
Batteries-alkaline, all sizes
Fans
Extension cords
Baby formula
Baby food
Camping toilets
Flashlights – kinetic or solar are best but any type is welcome
Camping showers
Chapstick
Respirator masks
Non-aerosol sunscreen

Generators – empty for shipping – Tri Fuel is best

Cleaning wipes (no liquids)
