The 56th Bainbridge Island Chamber Grand Old 4th of July is ready to go from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with two major events the day before.
The BI Street Dance will be July 3 from 6-11 p.m. On the Main Stage will be Paper Moon at 6, Ocean Men at 7:15 and Disciples of Patches at 8:30. On the Madrone Lane Stage Music Masters DJ John will perform from 7-11 p.m. There will also be the Kids Zone from 6-9 p.m., the Beer and Wine Garden and local restaurants and food vendors along Winslow Way.
Also, The Stars & Strikes Baseball Game will take place at noon July 3. Alumni, current Bainbridge High School players and special guests will be on hand. There will also be a silent auction, concessions and more.
Only July 4, volunteers are still needed as parade marshals and assist with traffic control. Each shift lasts a few hours. Go to signupgenius.com
July 4
Pancake breakfast: 7-11 a.m., Town & Country parking lot, BHS Football Boosters
Bainbridge Youth Services Fun Run: 9-11 a.m.. 1 mile, 5K and Kids Dash, downtown Winslow.
Car show: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Classics, antiques, hot rods, foreign, motorcycles, military and oddball vehicles, Umpqua and Chase Bank parking lots. Six categories, including public’s favorite.
Street fair: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Waterfront Park, arts and crafts, food and information booths.
Kids Zone: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Pony rides, putt-putt golf, model boat, bouncy houses, face painting. At noon and 3 p.m. children’s musical game performances by Alleyoop!
Live music: 10 a.m. to noon, Ranger and the Re-Arrangers, T&C parking lot, noon to 1 p.m. Hometown Band plays John Philip Sousa-style music, Winslow Mall; 3-5 p.m., Soul Siren, T&C parking lot.
Beer, wine and cider garden: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Waterfront Park.
Parade: 1-3 p.m. South on Madison Avenue at Wyatt Way, then east on Winslow Way. Nearly 100 acts including bands, organizations, businesses, animals, politicians, floats, police, fire trucks, kid performers and more. Entries get one 30-second performance in front of three parade announcer stages.
Also, the Bainbridge Island Photo Club, as part of July 4 festivities, will hold its annual Photography Exhibit featuring over 100 of the best images by club members.
The public may vote for their five favorite images. The free exhibit has attracted hundreds of visitors annually.
The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the BI Community Senior Center at Waterfront Park, 370 Brien Ave. SE.
