Man assaulted in Winslow hold-up

A Bainbridge man was assaulted on Madison Avenue after leaving a Winslow restaurant early Sunday. Four males in a dark-colored Volvo approached the man and demanded his wallet, and when he refused to give it up, struck him in the head with an unknown object.

A Bainbridge man was assaulted in an attempted hold-up on Madison Avenue after leaving a Winslow restaurant early Sunday.

Four males in a dark-colored Volvo approached the man and demanded his wallet, and when he refused to give it up, struck him in the head with an unknown object.

Officers en route to another call spotted the man standing in the roadway and bleeding near Wyatt Way, and aid was called to the scene. The man was taken to Harrison Hospital for treatment.

Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect vehicle.

The man had been a patron at Winslow Way Cafe, and the suspects are believed to have been at the same restaurant the night before. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Bainbridge Police at 842-5211.
