Olympic Property Group will host a community meeting to discuss the latest details for Bainbridge Landing, its residential construction project planned for downtown Winslow, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 26 at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (550 Winslow Way East).
Bainbridge Landing is a four-story, 115-unit apartment building set to be raised just north of the Harbor Square condominiums, with two buildings to the north and west that would include nearly two dozen townhomes, on a 4.7-acre parcel between Cave and Ferncliff avenues.
Initial development plans for the property — on a site that includes the 1900-era home of immigrant William Cave — started to come together in 2015.
In a recent letter to site neighbors, Olympic Property Group president Jon Rose said that since their last such public meeting, several important developments have come to pass, including the purchase of the property itself, the official approval from Bainbridge Island’s hearing examiner, and the start of initial conversations with a contractor (Compass General Construction, of Kirkland).
Also, the letter said, the company has applied for building permits.
The contractor is expected to “begin mobilizing equipment” during the last week of July, according to Rose.
Construction is expected to last 18 to 24 months.
The meeting is a chance for residents to “meet face-to-face, hear the latest news, discuss issues, and have questions answered.”
Olympic Property Group is a Pope Resources Company.
