Millerd drops out as Bainbridge council candidate

Greg Millerd has pulled out as a candidate for the vacant Bainbridge city council seat.

Greg Millerd has pulled out as a candidate for the vacant Bainbridge city council seat.

The council met Thursday night to choose a replacement for David Ward, who became the first-ever council member to resign from the council when he stepped down in December.

Millerd had a scheduling conflict due to a prior family commitment and could not attend Thursday’s special council meeting. The council expects to pick a new council member for the Central Ward seat at the close of Thursday’s meeting.

Mayor Anne Blair announced at the start of the meeting that Millerd had bowed out.

His departure left five remaining candidates; Michael R. Scott, Joe Levan, Gary Pettersen, Monica Aufrecht and John Green.
