The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the Puget Sound region that will remain in effect until 10 p.m. Friday, April 7.

The advisory includes Bainbridge Island and stretches from Tacoma to Everett, and Seattle to Bremerton.

South winds of 25 to 35 mph — with gusts up to 55 mph — are expected.

Forecasters expect high winds to increase late in the morning and peak in the afternoon and early evening hours.

Trees and branches may be knocked down by the wind, which could lead to local power outages.
