To residents, Bainbridge is Bainbridge, but last week it was also Alaska.
Film crews from Peacock Productions of NBC News visited Bainbridge Island from June 16 through June 20 to shoot footage for a true crime series.
The show, “I’d Kill For You,” is returning for a second season on the Investigation Discovery channel and Bainbridge had a part in it.
Crime scenes set in Alaska were reenacted on the island in several locations, most of which were private property while other areas were on backroads.
The Bainbridge chamber worked closely with the show’s production staff to set up accommodations for the crew.
“Filming on the island is economic development,” said Rex Oliver, president of the Chamber of Commerce.
Oliver explained that major film brings money to local businesses and exposure to the island, both of which benefit Bainbridge’s economic development.
