The Bainbridge Island community is invited to an interactive forum entitled “Citizenship: The Heart of a Resilient Community,” that will serve as the second edition of Sustainable Bainbridge’s Frog Rock Forum series.

The forum is 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 at IslandWood.

The event will be led by Rick Jackson from the Bainbridge Island-based Center for Courage & Renewal.

Sustainable Bainbridge launched Frog Rock Forum last year as a resource for ways to create a more resilient community through effective citizenship activity. The goal of this year’s Frog Rock Forum is to explore the aspects of citizenship that create a more resilient community here on Bainbridge Island.

Jackson will guide the interactive program, based on Parker Palmer’s book, “Healing the Heart of Democracy.” Participants will have opportunities to experience and practice communication skills that bridge differences in viewpoints and perceptions.

An executive with the YMCA for 25 years, Jackson is a co-founder and senior fellow at the Center or Courage & Renewal, where he develops programs for leaders and partnerships/special projects with kindred organizations.

The registration fee of $12 includes a pizza dinner at IslandWood. The fee for students is two for $12. Tickets can be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets (www.brownpapertickets.com/event/270378).
