Number of Kitsap residents being tested for COVID-19 rises to 10

Ten people in Kitsap County are now being tested for 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19), officials with the Kitsap Public Health District announced Thursday.

No actual cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the county.

Officials said earlier that six residents had been tested.

Results on the tests, which will come from the state public health laboratory in Shoreline, are expected to take three to four days.

Ten people have died in Washington state from COVID-19, and state health officials said there have been 39 confirmed cases of coronavirus. A total of 231 people remain under public health supervision, which includes those at risk of having been exposed to COVID-19 who are monitoring their health under the supervision of public health officials. This number also includes people who have returned from China in the past 14 days and are included in federal quarantine guidance.

The state Department of Health has set up a call center to respond to public questions on the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19).
