Bainbridge Island Police Officer Chuck Kazer walks down a stairwell to the first floor of the 300 Building at Bainbridge High on Friday as part of the police department’s added security measures at the school.
An officer has been stationed at BHS this week following Wednesday’s incident of a man entering the school and assaulting a student, and having inappropriate contact with another, before assaulting a third BHS student off-campus nearby later in the afternoon. A suspect in the assaults was arrested late Wednesday afternoon.
Kazer was the first officer at the school following the reports of a suspicious man on the campus, and tried to stop the intruder in a lower campus parking lot before he was struck by the man’s car.
Kazer was bruised, but back at work the next day.
