The annual Bike to School Day festivities were once again in full swing at Ordway Elementary School Wednesday, May 10, along with other campuses across the country. There were snacks and a raffle outside the school, featuring bicycle-themed prizes from local businesses.
May is actually National Bike to School Month, a time for students of all ages across the country to celebrate bicycling to school. Last year, a total of 3,769 elementary school students in the Puget Sound region reported riding their bikes on Bike to School Day, according to Cascade Bicycle Club.
This year, more than 50 schools are participating all over the state.
