Bainbridge Police reported the following incidents:

MAY 20

10:28 a.m. A citizen called 911 to advise police that a man was pacing around Fay Bainbridge State Park yelling. The subject was identified as a man contacted by officers the previous week for yelling at Hidden Cove Park. An officer contacted the man who appeared shaky, agitated and aggressive. The park host requested that the man be asked to leave, which he did, after berating officers and accusing them of “treason.”

4:18 p.m. A High School Road pharmacy reported a forged prescription. A man purportedly from Suquamish had picked up 20 pills of Vicodin the day before. The man returned the| next day and told a pharmacist he needed to increase the prescription to 60 pills. The pharmacist told the man he would need to verify the prescription with a doctor. The man said he left the prescription in his car and left the store but did not return. A records check showed the man had filled 16 prescriptions at the store since 2005.

5:38 p.m. A citizen called 911 to report a cabin cruiser had broken loose from its mooring in Port Orchard and drifted into ferry traffic. Bainbridge Police deployed a marine unit and found the 29-foot yacht drifting east on a collision course with a red channel marker. The police brought the cruiser alongside to tow, though one cleat tore out of the boat. The cruiser was towed to the Annapolis ferry pier to await its owner.

6:15 p.m. A Burien driver in a Toyota sedan rearended a Bainbridge driver’s Honda Civic while in line for ferry tickets. The Burien driver was cited for failing to provide proof of insurance.

6:38 p.m. Police were advised of a hit-and-run on High School Road and SR-305 after black Saturn allegedly backed into another vehicle but continued north on the highway. An officer caught up to the reporting vehicle and the Saturn north of the Agate Pass Bridge. The Saturn did not respond to the cruiser’s emergency lights but came jerkily to a stop after its siren was activated. The officer contacted the driver, a Poulsbo woman, who smelled heavily of intoxicants and had bloodshot, watery eyes. The officer asked for license and registration but the woman only replied, in slow, slurred speech, that her 10-year-old daughter was home alone. The woman said she did not know that she had backed into another vehicle, and after some fumbling, produced a license. The officer talked briefly to the driver of the reporting vehicle but saw no damage on the car, and the reporting vehicle left the scene. The officer asked the Saturn’s driver to step from the vehicle, which she did unsteadily. The officer explained that tests were needed to see if she was OK to drive, to which the driver replied “I’m not alright to drive” and asked if the officer could call her a ride. She agreed to and failed three sobriety tests, was arrested for driving under the influence and released to her landlord.

MAY 21

12:40 p.m. A driver who had reportedly unlawfully passed a school bus on Sunrise Drive May 15 was contacted. The driver admitted to the offense but said she had been driving slowly and thought the school bus driver was reaching deactivating the stop sign.

1:19 p.m. A Wyatt Way woman reported that someone had pried open the window screen on a rear window of her residence, but said the perpetrator likely didn’t enter her home because of her dog. No suspects.
