Bainbridge Police reported the following incidents:
Oct. 8
1:13 a.m. An officer was on patrol driving directly behind a vehicle that turned without signaling. The officer turned on the emergency lights, but the driver did not immediately pull over. Eventually the driver slowly pulled over and rolled down the window with his drivers license and insurance card already in hand for the officer. The driver had red, watery eyes and the smell of marijuana and alcohol billowed out of his vehicle. Initially when the officer asked him what he’d had to drink he said nothing. Later he admitted that he had something to drink with dinner earlier at a bar.
When asked to perform voluntary field sobriety tests the man refused and said he wanted to talk to a lawyer. He was asked to get out of the vehicle, but had a lot of difficulty trying to hold himself up. He was handcuffed and placed inside the patrol vehicle.
Inside the man’s vehicle was an open alcoholic container and a plastic bag of marijuana. He registered two breath samples of .136 and .134 and the marijuana weighed 2.1 grams.
1:30 a.m. An officer was alerted for a possible DUI violation by casino security. The security officer warned the individual not to drive suspecting that the person had too much to drink.
The man ignored the warning and attempted to leave with his wife. The vehicle appeared to be speeding and the officer performed a stop. He asked the man how much he had to drink and he denied he had had anything. Alcohol was detected to be coming from the man. He agreed to take field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DUI and was placed into handcuffs. The wife was in the front passenger seat and said that she was able to drive. The officer advised her that she could take a portable breath test to make sure. She declined to take the test and said she would rather call her son to come pick her up. The man was taken to the police station for DUI processing. His breath samples registered at .147 and .145.
5:06 p.m. A police officer arrived on the scene with the Bainbridge medics to tend to a woman who was bit by a dog. The reporting party said he had been house sitting for family members and was very upset about the incident. He said the dogs were very aggressive and dangerous.
He had the dogs inside the residence and was waiting for a ride to pick up his car, which was at the shop. The shop owners wife arrived to transport the man to retrieve his car. When the woman exited her vehicle the man was trying to leave the house and the dog bolted past him and went straight for the woman. The smaller dog, a shizu, is the more aggressive of the dogs and often gets the lab mix very agitated, according to the man. The dogs grabbed her leg and pulled her down resulting in deep bite marks and a slice to her leg.
The dogs are rescue animals and have had several incidences of aggression. The dog owner was contacted by police and said she is careful to have them on leash when she has them out and said she hasn’t had any other dog bite incidents. Due to the seriousness of the bites animal control will be contacted.

She said the owner of the pit bull tried to pull the dog off, but had no control over the animal. The dog caused several cuts and injuries to her dog and she was bit in the hand when she tried to kick the pit bull off her dog.
The owner of the pit bull refused to give his information to the woman. He looked to be in his teens.
Another person in the park heard the commotion and assisted the woman to go to an emergency vet in Poulsbo and the hospital to get her hand looked at.

The man said he was inspecting his vehicles when he noticed that his windshield was shot at on his dump truck. About 75 feet away another truck of his that was hit by five BB gun shots.
He estimated the damage to be about $350.00. The man was asked if he had any problems with anyone and he mentioned the son of his ex-fiancee who was upset about the separation last year.
