They say everything is caught on camera these days. Fortunately for the victims of multiple recent burglaries, this may be true.

Bainbridge Island police officers arrested two men, both 26, Thursday evening for their alleged involvement in a string of burglaries across Kitsap County, including Bainbridge Island.

The arrest was made possible, in part, because the two alleged burglars were caught on a security camera at a Bainbridge Island residence.

Bainbridge Island Police Commander Sue Shultz said the two men, and their vehicle, were clearly captured on camera as they entered an island home and made off with stolen items. With images of the men and their car, police had a face to put with a crime — or in this case, a car.

A car matching the description of the vehicle from the security footage was spotted parked at the Clearwater Casino by a Bainbridge officer Thursday night. Police were then able to apprehend the suspects.

The men were found to be in possession of a handgun and heroin. They were booked in the Kitsap County Jail on charges of burglary, possession of a handgun, and possession of heroin.
