Beach Crest Drive on Bainbridge Island lost power Monday afternoon after tree branches fell on power lines that served the neighborhood.

Beach Crest Drive is near Manitou Beach.

Puget Sound Energy has been made aware of the power outage.

There is currently no word on when the electricity will be returned to the area.

Bainbridge Island has been buffeted by strong winds Monday. The National Weather Service in Seattle reported southwest winds of 26 miles per hour Monday afternoon in the area, with gusts up to 37 mph.

Thunderstorms are possible in the region late Monday until 11 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
