Reporting team for WNPA Olympia News Bureau announced for 2015 session

Alice Day and Cooper Inveen will be covering the upcoming 2015 Legislature in Olympia for the Bainbridge Review and other newspapers across the state from the WNPA Olympia News Bureau this session.

The Legislature will convene for a Regular Session on Jan. 12.

Day is a senior at the University of Washington and is pursing degrees in journalism and political science.

A storyteller by nature, she strives to report and curate newsworthy content packed with grit, voice and sass. Her multicultural upbringing and studies abroad have broadened her horizons, reservoir of knowledge and attitude.

She aspires to become a radio personality, political ambassador, or news anchor (in no particular order).

Inveen is University of Washington senior who is studying journalism and African studies.

After extensive involvement in various forms of political activism throughout his youth, Inveen is currently pursuing a career as an international development/crisis reporter. His lifelong passion for writing, paired with a profound appreciation for thought-provoking stories, has instilled in him the importance of factual and compelling journalism.

His work has been featured on Humanosphere.org and the Awoko Newspaper in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where he worked as a reporter this past summer quarter. He has made interview appearances on both Al Jazeera English and Seattle’s KUOW.
