Madeline Corbin, a senior at Bainbridge High School, has joined the news team at the Bainbridge Island Review as a summer intern.
For the past two years, Corbin has been a member of the BHS newspaper, the Spartan Standard. Last year, she was the arts and entertainment editor, and during her upcoming senior year she will be one of the editors-in-chief.
She plans to work in a similar area for the Review, focusing on arts and entertainment stories and features.
Corbin has been interested in writing from a young age, but it was not until joining the Spartan Standard that she considered pursuing journalism as a career.
“I am very happy to have this opportunity to be part of the Review,” she said. “I hope to learn more about journalism and decide whether I want to continue in this field after high school.”
Corbin will be at the Review all summer, and she may contribute throughout the school year as well, depending on her time commitment to the Spartan Standard.
“We are very thrilled to welcome Madeline to our newsroom. She’s a terrific writer and her enthusiasm is contagious,” said Review editor Brian Kelly.
