Gary Sakuma has been elected as the new American Legion post commander for Colin Hyde Post No. 172.

The newly installed officers of the post were elected at the group’s last business meeting.

The post’s other officers are Ron Coglon Jr., past commander; Roth Hafer, first vice commander and service officer; Gary Clough, second vice commander; Fred Scheffler, adjutant; John Wilson, finance officer; Bill Beck, judge advocate; Nels Johansen, chaplain; Jim Walkowski, historian; Norm Marten, sergeant at arms; Don Teresi, senior color guard; and Jim Tusler, junior color guard.

Members-at-large elected to the Post Executive Committee are Walk Burkartmeier, Nels Hohansen and Ron Luke.

The first meeting of the new Legion year is 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7.
