A child was hospitalized after a school bus collided with a cart he was riding in that had rolled down a hill Sept. 27, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office has reported.

The 5- or 6-year old boy was riding in the cart while being pulled up a steep driveway by another child around 3:25 p.m. When that child lost control, the cart carrying the boy rolled down onto the street and into the path of a school bus, officials said.

The boy was transported to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma. No students were on the bus at the time.
