Bainbridge Island Rotary and PALS, the Passionate About Learning Society, will host a non-partisan panel discussion  on the history and evolution of how the United States elects its Congress.

The panel will be led by Bainbridge Island educators Amanda Ward and Larry Judd.

The discussion is part of the ongoing Rotary and PALS 2011-2012 Lecture Series, and the community is invited to participate in this discussion. It will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27 at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, 554 Winslow Way East.

The process of electing citizens to Congress has undergone a series of constitutional and legal changes since the nation’s founding. Next week’s panel discussion is a follow-on to the very popular “Electing a President” panel discussion held in January at the same location. Organizers said it’s an opportunity to review the constitutional and legal changes in how Congressional representatives are elected.
