Seven people have expressed interest in an appointment to the Bainbridge Island Fire Department Board of Commissioners.

The department put out a call for candidates after the resignation of Susan Cohen from her Position 3 seat on Feb. 17.

Cohen stepped down from the five-member board so she could seek a position within the department.

The field of potential replacements includes Teri Dettmer, Dan Morrow, Meghan McKnight, William Biscomb, Paul Topper, James Lagdon and Greg Millerd.

The board of commissioners will interview the candidates during a public meeting on Thursday, April 12.

Commissioners expect to make a decision on the appointment at their meeting on Thursday, April 26.
