Two juveniles are in custody after allegedly shooting at a man and his son near the parking lot of the Kitsap Mall March, per the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.
A man said he was driving with his son near the mall’s south end around 4:45 p.m. when the two teenagers walking nearby began shouting profanities toward his vehicle, a KCSO Facebook post states. When the man pulled into a parking lot, the teenagers ran toward him, then pulled handguns and began shooting. KCSO says no shots hit the man and his son or their vehicle, but bullets struck two other cars nearby. No one was injured.
Several deputies responded to the scene and, after chasing them on foot, caught the suspects.
The teenagers were arrested and booked on suspicion of first- and second-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possessing a stolen firearm, per KCSO.
